Step by Step Toyota Remote Programming Instructions:

This method only works for select toyota models. If it does not succeed you will likely need to contact a locksmith

1.  Begin with the driver’s door open and all other doors closed, and unlocked. The key should be out of the ignition.

2. Within 5 seconds do the following:
A. Insert the transponder key into the ignition WITHOUT turning. Remove Key
B. Re-Insert the transponder key into the ignition WITHOUT turning. Remove Key

3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close the driver’s door. Open the driver’s door.
B. Close the driver’s door. Open the driver’s door.
C. Insert the transponder key into the ignition WITHOUT turning. Remove Key

4. Once more in less than 40 seconds.
A. Close the driver’s door. Open the driver’s door.
B. Close the driver’s door. Open the driver’s door.
C. Insert the transponder key into the ignition and leave it inserted.
D. Close the driver’s door.
E. Turn the ignition to ACC position (NOT Crank)
F. Remove the transponder key from the ignition switch.

5. In less than 5 seconds, the vehicle’s door locks should automatically actuate* (lock then unlock) indicating successful entry into programming mode.

*If Unsuccessful repeat steps 1-5

 

6.  Once the door locks actuate – do this within 30 seconds
A. Push and HOLD both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 2 seconds
B. Upon release of the lock and unlock buttons, depress the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within a few seconds, the vehicles door locks should actuate once more indicating  a successful remote programming. However, if the door locks actuate two times, you will be required to repeat steps A and B in step 6. This indicates the remote was not accepted for some reason..
C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote.

7. Open driver’s door.
